would have been nice to get a warning when accessing the footer.php file BEFORE trying to finalize my edits!
If a theme is free, it should be free, not with the backdoor that money is generated through uneditable links.
If you have a “catch” built into your template behavior, please be at least upfront about it. Otherwise, put a price tag on it, and let people buy it.

Hi, I have enabled post thumbnail only on the homepage. In your theme editor, select the index page and find a div with a class name of post-image. Copy and paste the whole div into your single post page, as in the index page, above the div with a class of post-body. Hope that helps.

im using your theme that i love btw for a friends page of mine and i cant figure out how to post a thumbnail, change a thumbnail or remove the thumbnail from the post on the main page. any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for showing interest in my theme. But I think, you would be better off using a normal html template, for use as a static website, rather than this theme, which is intended for blogging using wordpress.

I would like to use Elegent Designs Simplistic 4 1.0 for a usual website – not for a blog. So there are a lot of things that I do not need (marked with red in this picture):
